This information is provided by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and its Sex Offender Registry as a public service and may not be used in the perpetration of any criminal act or harassment against these individuals.

If the person is a current resident of North Carolina, the person shall register: (1) Within 10 days of release from a penal institution or arrival in a county to live outside a penal institution on or after January 1, 1996; or (2) Immediately upon conviction for a reportable offense where an active term of imprisonment was not imposed on or after January 1, 1996.

A publication entitled "North Carolina Sex Offender Registration Program" has been published by the North Carolina Department of Justice and explains in detail the requirements and process for registration as well as public access to the registry.

Information is updated by the SBI as received by the regis-tering sheriff and the SBI cannot guarantee the accuracy day to day.
